In which case - RBM is probably still your best bet, but there's some merit in the Black Mage (better damage, more debuff options) and Machinist (you get Decoy and the lategame will provide Hastega - the only big downside is the need to farm Bubble Motes ...Secondly, I do suggest using all 12 jobs your first playthrough because then you can see what each one does and you don’t miss out on any weapons or skills. ( and one could say it's canon-esque considering he wields one with his hands handcuffed in a cutscene.)The Zodiac Age was based on IZJS version (International Zodiac Job System) which you could use only 1 job per character and cannot reset job.
