I noticed that when I opened up the timing cover that the marks on the cam gear and the crankshaft gear were both at the 12 o'clock position while the distributor rotor was pointed at the #1 post on the cap and the mark on the harmonic balancer was pointed to 0 degrees TDC. First, I was disappointed. I didn't feel or hear the advertised 420 or so horsepower of my rebuilt 355 with Edelbrock E-210 heads and Performer RPM intake manifold. Second, after properly breaking in the cam / engine with cam lube and break in oil, the cam rounded out 2 lobes and about 4 lifters were damaged. 1 lifter actually came apart.The Edelbrock 2102 is the exact same cam, from the exact same supplier, that Slummit puts in their box and calls the K1102.
